We are proud to announce GOLD MEDALS for the following products in Sept 2002 :
Sally created a new Christmas stuffing with cranberries, oranges, smoked ham and black pudding for 1997. This was judged by Moyra Fraser, Cookery Editor, to be the winner in a national competition for Q Guild Butchers and promoted by the Good Housekeeping Institute.

We were awarded the Heartbeat Award in December 1996 by the Environmental Health Department of South Bedfordshire District Council for our Taste & Try Events. Heartbeat Awards are recognised nationally as a mark of excellence in food hygiene standards, matched with healthy eating criteria. At the Taste and Try sessions we invite customers to test new and healthy meat products and recipes. This award came at a time when butchers nationwide were coping with BSE and cooked meat bugs and we were the first butchers in the country to win an award in honour of healthy eating products and services.

In 1996 we were chosen as one of just 21 shops selected throughout Britain to go forward for the Top Shop Awards, organised by the meat industry's newspaper, the Meat Trades Journal and presented by the Meat Training Council. We were the first company in the country to be presented with a training award and were an East England finalist at the Dorchester Hotel, London.

In October 1991 we won the Meat and Livestock Commission Enterprise Award. This was a very successful year for us considering most of Britain was in the midst of a recession. We have always maintained a high level of investment in training our staff and thus allowing our customers to reap the benefits of correctly trained staff.
Peter, our Managing Director, says "I think it is essential to get people's opinions to ensure you are providing them with what they want", so we always listen to our customers have to say.
